1. TRY TO SLOW DOWN
Your baby needs a slower pace of life than you are used to and his reactions to your requests are slower than you would expect!
2. STAY CALM WHEN HE CRIES
Take deep breaths and remind yourself that you are not the cause but you have the power to help him to calm himself)
3. TAKE TIME TO OBSERVE YOUR BABY IN ORDER TO ANALYSE AND THEREFORE UNDERSTAND HIM
4. BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF AND YOUR BABY.
Don’t expect too much of yourself or your baby. You are a learning team. After all, you are both learning a new language and who said learning to speak Japanese is easy?
5. KEEP THINGS SIMPLE
Because babies love and understand simplicity.
6. SYMPATHIZE WITH HIM
Show him that you understand that he is not happy, this allows him to feel understood and soothed. (Mum’s need this too!)
7. CUDDLES, CONTINUITY and COMMUNICATION
These are your baby’s greatest needs.
8. REMEMBER that your baby thinks you are absolutely PERFECT in every way no matter what you do or how you do it! That has to be a reassuring factor, don’t you think?”
